Cathlamet postal workers receive awards

On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the Cathlamet Post Office and the Washington District of the United States Postal Service presented awards to two Cathlamet letter carriers.

Rural Carrier Shelly Klecker received a 20 Year Service award and a special all-weather coat embroidered with her name, position and office in recognition of outstanding safe driving performance. During her twenty-year career at the Cathlamet post office, Shelly's commitment to safety has been well documented. In 2008 she was awarded the United States Postal Service National Safety Council's safety award, and her weekly and monthly safety reviews have achieved the highest marks throughout her Postal career.

Rural Carrier Jennifer Miller received Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding commitment to safety and safe rural delivery during the storm on November 5, 2025. During that event Jennifer displayed exemplary safe driving performance and ensured that all mail and parcels were delivered on her route. No customers were affected by a delay due to weather, even with the heavy winds and torrential rain. Jennifer has also consistently received high marks on her weekly and monthly safety reviews.
