Because the dates line up, The Eagle has decided to reprint events from 1975. Thank you to volunteer Julie O’Neil and volunteer curator, genealogist, and board member Kari Kandoll.
Have you ever wondered what makes the many “droves” of skiers flock to the mountain areas every winter? What do they see in climbing up a hill, sliding down, while balancing on two long, skinny boards, strapped to their feet? Well I found out last Friday. I had my first skiing lesson and loved it! Naturally I fell down a lot and spent a lot of time trying to dig myself out of a couple of snow banks, and the next day suffering with stiff muscles, but I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. So for the future, all I can say is “Look out slopes, here I come!!!”
Ice Capades
Opening night at the Ice Capades!!! That’s where I was on Tuesday evening! Never having been to an Ice Capades presentation before, the entertainment was a new experience for me. The fabulous settings and scenery mixed with the lighting, music and costumes was a really spectacular event. The snow runs through Sunday and I would heartily recommend anyone interested to attend. You won’t forget it!!!
