HELLO. Welcome library members, readers, and Wahkiakum residents to our monthly update.
NEW PASS. We now have the Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals (Hillsboro, Ore.) pass, available for free for all Cathlamet library cardholders. This pass provides access for two adults and four children. Go check out this museum, as their displays are very kid friendly.
PODCASTS. We will be on the following podcasts: Talk of Our Towns, hosted by Donna Quinn, and The Human Beat, hosted by Roger Rocka. Each podcast is listed and hosted by KMUN radio, so check out their website for easy listening.
WESTSIDE SENIOR LUNCH. At noon on the first Wednesday of every month, the library has a table set-up in the Rosburg Community Hall for folks to stop and visit, get a free library card, and pick-up various library flyers and brochures. See you then.
STORY TIME. Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11 a.m. we have our weekly story time. Come visit, relax, and enjoy. Drop on in, as all are welcome.
LIBRARY AFTER DARK. Every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., the library is open for an informal social gathering. Various activities are available, along with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
D & D. Dungeons and Dragons takes place the first through fourth Wednesdays each month from 6 to 8 p.m. The Siblings & Family group and the group for grades 6-12 now both meet in the Pioneer Center. Please stop by if you are interested.
WESTEND DELIVERY. Every Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m., we provide a Westend Delivery service at the Rosburg Fire Station. Patrons who pick-up a book, DVD, or pass also receive two Cottage restaurant chocolate chip cookies at the delivery. See website for details.
CULTURAL PASSES. Five passes are now available: Clatsop County Historical Society, Discover, Oregon State Park day-parking, Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals, and Columbia River Maritime Museum. Reserve your pass ahead of time. There is a limit of one pass per family.
CARD DISCOUNTS. Enjoy 15 percent off with your library card at Patty Cakes, The Spar, The Video Store, Little Woo’s, JJ’s Pizza & Mohr, Naselle Coffee, Puget Island Gardens, and Little Island Creamery. Thank you to each of these businesses for supporting the library.
CRAFT TABLE. Visit the kids and adults craft table in the library. New additions are added as the seasons change, holidays happen, and months turn. Come and enjoy at your leisure.
JIGSAW PUZZLE. A jigsaw puzzle is available every day at a corner nook. Relax, enjoy, and see how far you can get.
STILL WAITING? The Top 10 Libby ebooks can be a long wait sometimes. We have the physical books on our ‘Still Waiting?’ book shelf. Come on in and check out the one you want.
WORK SPECIALIST. Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Diana Zimmerman from Employ Wahkiakum assists job seekers with job searches, resumes, cover letters, and more.
FREE COOKIES. The library offers free cookies on both Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Thursdays at our Westend Delivery service.
NOTARY SERVICE. Free notary service is available Thursday and Saturday at 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30 p.m. Please schedule ahead.
LIBRARY CARDS. Cathlamet library cards are free for all Wahkiakum residents. The Cathlamet Public Library is located at 115 Columbia St. and is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. For more info, call 360-795-3254 or visit cathlamet.lib.wa.us.
