Start 2026 with smooth vocal stylings of the A Cappella Queens of Alaska, the Pipeline Vocal Project (PVP). This event takes place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, inside the Birkenfeld Theater (75 S. Nehalem St.) in Clatskanie. A Cappella Queens of Alaska needs no crowns or scepters to sway the audience with its original, innovative arrangements of pop songs, show tunes, 1940s boogie-woogie, and classics. These top-notch performers involve the crowd in rhythmic and harmonic participation, bringing sunshine and joy to January in Clatskanie. You won’t want to miss this one!
In addition to A Cappella Queens of Alaska, the Clatskanie Arts commission has a great lineup of performances for attendees to enjoy this year. On Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m. Brownsmead Flats will make its way to the Clatskanie Cultural Center. Come enjoy these acoustic performers as they play traditional and original songs in that famous Crabgrass tradition (bluegrass with a maritime flavor). You’ll be all warmed up for St. Patrick’s Day.
The following month, the Clatskanie Cultural Center will host the CMHS Music Department and Clatskanie Community Choir on Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. Come out and celebrate the Clatskanie Cultural Center building’s centennial. Join the community in supporting high school music, local arts, and our town during this fundraiser for the Cultural Center Marquee Project. Admission to this event will be by donation.
