Recovering

Mrs. Ada Spears is recovering from Surgery in Swedish hospital in Seattle. She is reported to be doing well.

Celebrate Birthday

Friends and neighbors helped Grace Kesterson celebrate her 90th birthday on Feb. 5. Present were Hildegarde Anderson, Emma Swanback, Nena Bozanich, Alma Petersen, Bella Iverson, Ann Pedersen, Louise Lawrence and Muriel Page. Emma Swanback made the birthday cake for the occasion.

New Officers

The Wahkiakum Anchor club’s newly elected officers for 1976 took their respective offices in January. Commodore for 76 is Doug Moffett; George Hanigan is vice commodore; Alan Fryberger, secretary; Mark Laukkanen, treasurer and Carol Olsen, historian. The boaters are looking forward to their Commodore ball in March.

To Portland

Mrs. Margaret Hollar and daughter and son-in-law and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cochran and Stephanie, spent the day in Portland with Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Morris while looking at mobile homes for Mrs. Hollar.

From Longview

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jansen of Longview visited at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Prestegard.

Nephew Visits

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Uhler and two daughters spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Uhler. The Pete Uhlers come from Bremerton.

Weekend Guests

Mr. and Mrs. Ford Quarles of Seaside, Ore., were weekend guests in the Cathlamet area and visited with friends. They were overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson.

Home for Weekend

Don and Cheryl Ross, son and daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Gene Ross were both home over the weekend from Northwest college in Kirkland.

See Daughter Play

Saturday was an exciting day for some local citizens who attended the activities at Columbia Christian college in Portland, during their campus day. Mrs. Gene Ross, Martha Love, Laura Warner, and Michelle Ross took in the volleyball game in which Cheryl Ross was playing.

Visit Friends

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Eide visited with friends Friday in the Ilwaco area.

Sewing Class is Tuesday

The Wahkiakum Organization of Women’s clubs will hold another sewing class on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the DNR building. Edna Snyder, leader for the session., will explain the essentials of putting zippers by hand and by machine.
