Family Wedding
Mr and Mrs. Roy C. Campsall announce the wedding of their daughter, Kim Whitfield to Tom Crouse, Saturday March 13 at 8 p.m. at the Campsall home.
Kim is the daughter of Mrs. Roy Campsall and Preston C. Whitfield of Panama City, Fla. Tom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Crouse.
Stookesberry-Smith
Cathy Stookesberry, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ackermann, and Darrell J. Smith were married on March 2 at 8:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ackermann in Kelso. Attending as matron of honor was Juanita Campbell and best man was Jerry Fitch. Also participating in the ceremony were the bride’s son and daughter, David and Debbie. A wedding trip to the Oregon coast followed the wedding which was performed by Rev. L.W. Ertsgaard. The bride is a secretary at LCC and the groom is employed by Reynolds Reduction plant. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Smith of Callihan, Texas.
To California
Mrs. Vera Hosley recently spent some time in California, where she visited with her son Do Hosley in Ripon and relatives in Merced. She attended the Almond Blossom festival in Ripon which was also attended by the mayors of Ripon, England and Ripon, Wisconsin. In Redding, Mrs. Hosley visited with the Elwin Hosley family.
From Minnesota
Eugene Danker, father of Anthony Danker is visiting with his son and family from Minnesota. Danker rode out from Minnesota with a friend and plans to spend a while.
To Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. LDA Gervais attended the wedding Saturday of their nephew, Rick Hansen and spent the night at the home of Delores Miller in Kelso.
From Chicago
Mrs. Margaret Hollar recently returned from a two-week trip which took her to Chicago. She and Ira W. (Bill) Martin of Prosser drove a school bus back and delivered it to Renton. Mrs. Hollar was able to spend a few days in Chicago visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Fortier, a daughter of the Martins.
To Barbershop Show
A large group of local residents attended the Barbershop Ballad contest in Forest Grove, Ore., over the weekend. Going together in one group were Mrs. Margaret Hollar, Mrs. John Orth, and Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Risk. Risk was taken to visit his sister, Mrs. Alex French in Vancouver, and the ladies were joined by Mrs. Earl (Sue) Johnson, who continued to the contest together. They were met there by Mrs. Hans Fluckiger, Mrs. Ray Prestegard, Mrs. Mack Morris of Portland and Mrs. Ted Fiddler. They attended the two night contests and the “afterglow.” During the last night performances they saw the H.D. Fritzes and the R.L. Goodfellows who were also attending the event.
To Lynnwood
Rev. and Mrs. Gene Ross and Michelle went to Lynnwood to visit Rev. Ross’ sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Peirsol. They also visited their son and daughter, Don and Cheryl at Northwest college in Kirkland.
