District Meeting
Four ladies of the local Rebekah lodge attended the Rebekah district meeting held in Kalama on Saturday. Those taking in the event were Effie Wright, Louise Lawrence, Emily Worthington, and Mary Faymonville.
Grandchildren Visit
John, Tom and Stephanie, children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright of Olympia, are spending their spring vacation with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wright, this week.
Visited Son
Mr. and Mrs. Evert Brawley visited with their son and family, the Bob Brawleys, in Vancouver over the weekend.
To Beach
Among those who traveled to the ocean area this weekend to get a view of the tuna boat that was recently stranded off the coast were Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Prestegard and son Ryan and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Chase and daughter Lennie. After viewing the wrecked boat, they spent some time in Astoria, Sunday.
Planning Camp Out
The Country Stompers Square Dance club is planning a weekend camp out for the weekend of April 16 to 18. They plan to be in the Moclips area near Pacific beach.
Homemaker Reminder
The Happy Homemakers are reminded that their April meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Olsen on Monday. The Homemakers club held a birthday party on Thursday at the Columbia View Healthcare center for Carl Johnson.
Degrees To Be Given
The first and second degrees in subordinate Grange will be given at the Puget Island Grange on April 15. Following on April 21 will be the giving of the third and fourth degrees at Elochoman Grange.
Elochoman Grange will have a flea market at the Grange on May 7. Anyone wishing a table should contact Gladys Crouse.
Visitors from Moclips
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Riekkola of Moclips visited over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Spears.
Son Visits
Chris Ferguson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Feguson spent his spring break from Northwest Christian college in Eugene, at the home of his parents.
To Fall City
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Ferguson left last Wednesday for Fall City, Ore., where they visited with his mother, Mrs. Laverne Wolf.
Chosen For Group
Cheryl Ross, Daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Gene Ross, was chosen recently for a girls’ quartet called the “Sweet Salvation.” The group will be traveling throughout the state of Washington for the entire summer, singing at various churches and youth camps. For being chosen to participate in the group, Cherly will receive a scholarship for her next year’s studies at Northwest College in Kirkland.
