Oregon’s Rainier High School football team started off the season stronger compared to last year, winning 28-14 against Riverside. As the weeks passed, Rainier began to struggle. The team came back to fight against Corbett and won. Not only did they win, but they broke a record. Now Rainier and Corbett hold the high school record for most points scored in a game in 2A, 9 man football. This record was the best one Rainier has set within the last three years. The Naselle girls volleyball team had some momentum heading into the state tournament, but, unfortunately, they ran into Wilbur-Creston-Keller. Naselle’s girls volleyball team had two impressive wins to begin its postseason last week, starting last Wednesday. Hosting Willapa Valley, Naselle was able to win in three straight sets (25-20, 25-22, 25-17). Jessie Smith led the way with 34 assists and five aces, while Sophia Colombo led the team in digs with 21. Mylee Dunagan had 13 kills to lead the team, while Haylee Rose and Kaitlyn Steenerson co-led the team in blocks with three each.
