  • Final car show was a great success

    Kay Chamberlain|Jun 7, 2018

HALF TERRIFIC--This past weekend we got one perfect day, and one "so-so" day. With some of our states experiencing wildfires already, I have to say, the raindrops that started on Sunday afternoon, were really a blessing I thought, as were the ones that fell on Monday, as we've had an extremely dry May, which is pretty rare for us, and so things are already quite dry. WRAPPING IT UP.--The "perfect day" was this last Saturday, which was the day of the last Wahkiakum Dollars For Scholars Rods and Reels Rod Run (car show) so for that, we were...

    Jun 7, 2018

The hounds scheduled to run at Misty Rivers Plantation on Puget Island this weekend have already chased the bunny and gone home. Due to a last-minute schedule change, the meet was held this past weekend. After some hasty preparation, a relatively small group of mostly basenjis and whippets ran the lure course on Saturday and Sunday, so there will be no meet this coming weekend as previously announced. The next lure coursing events are scheduled for late September and the beginning of October. Firm dates and running schedules will be announced...

The Washington State Department of Health reminds people to call their local health department if they, a family member or a pet interacts with a bat. • Final car show will be Saturday at fairgrounds

    Kay Chamberlain|May 31, 2018

WEEKEND WAS NICE--The traffic was a bit heavy on Friday, but it sure was a nice day to start out this past Memorial Day weekend. Saturday saw some more clouds move in, but no rain, so it was perfect for doing some yard work, and Sunday was gorgeous. By Monday, which was Memorial Day, we had some more clouds but still a wonderful day. Considering parts of Maryland got hammered with massive rains and flash flooding and tropical storm Alberto was causing some havoc down south, I'd say we've been quite fortunate. I can only hope our upcoming...

    Trudy Fredrickson|May 31, 2018

Another really busy week. Last Friday we celebrated my oldest son’s 50th birthday with lots of surprises for him. His two younger brothers met him on the golf course and he was totally dumbfounded. They hadn’t been together in two years. Another friend also arrived from Oregon to make it a foursome. In the meantime, his wife was decorating a warehouse with black and gold decor, a catered dinner and many more family and friends awaited his arrival. Such a fun day, plus I had five of my children to visit with all weekend. On Saturday, the whole f...
