COLD SHOT--This past weekend we had another little cold spell, and yes, we did indeed see some snow falling but it didn't last too long down here. Beaver Creek had four new inches of snow by Sunday morning, so I was glad it was up there and not down here! Wahkiakum High School students will undertake a variety of activities next week to raise money for Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland. A couple who recently moved to Cathlamet have brought a couple of new businesses to the area. Formerly residents of northern California, Forrest and Beth Mora have purchased a house on Greewood Hill. "My parents, Boone and Jean Mora, live here in Skamokawa, and we wanted to move close to them," Forrest stated. MIXED BAG--As February came to an end, we've had some sun, some rain, some hail, some snow and some very cold temperatures, so we've had it all it seems! Redmen Hall will reopen on Saturday, March 4. They will exhibit their new panels displaying the photographs that were in the "History of the Tugs and Steamboats operating in the Lower Columbian Estuary." They will be open Saturday and Sunday the first weekend in March and start the usual Thursday-Sunday 12-4 hours on the next weekend.
