    Wow! The car show is almost here. This Saturday, May 23 will be the final clean up day at the Fairgrounds so if you have some spare time drop by and lend a hand to pull a few weeds or do the final touches of cleaning in the grange booth.     The 2015 Bald Eagle Planning Committee will meet on Wednesday, May 27 at 5 p.m., in the Cathlamet Community Center. At this meeting, voting will take place on the 2015 Grand Marshal and the 2015 theme. All Wahkiakum County community members are invited to attend and participate. Planning meetings occur twice a month, and then will be held more frequently when the event draws closer. Volunteers are needed for many aspects of this event.     The mainstem and West Fork Grays River will open two weeks early to fishing for hatchery spring chinook and hatchery steelhead from May 17 through June 5 on the Mainstem Grays from the mouth to the South Fork and West Fork Grays from the mouth to the hatchery intake/footbridge. The salmon and steelhead daily limit is six fish of which no more than two may be hatchery adult chinook or hatchery steelhead or one of each. Salmon minimum size is 12 inches.
