Sheriff's Report - June 2, 2011

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 23--9:10 a.m. A West Sunny Sands Road resident reported someone had stoned his car and damaged the windshield. 10:01 a.m. A caller reported someone had broken into the shop at an East Birnie Slough Road residence and taken liquor. 3:50 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that suspicious vehicles were at a neighbor's barn. 5:10 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman injured in a fall. 8:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Rosedale woman who was very ill. 9:22 p.m. A caller reported a door to one of the school gyms was wide open; a school official was notified and the building was checked.

May 24--10:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet man with severe back pain. 1:02 p.m. A caller reported illegal drug activity; an officer investigated. 1:39 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who had possibly overdosed on alcohol. 2:55 p.m. A caller said a 12-year-old had been habitually missing school; the report was referred to Children's Protective Services. 3:39 p.m. A caller reported two vehicles had been left parked a long time at Svensen Park; an officer tagged the vehicles, and they were moved.

May 25--4:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman who had fallen and sustained a cut to the head. 5:43 p.m. A problem with a Bonneville Power Administration transmission line caused a power outage all over Wahkiakum County. 9:13 p.m. An East Valley resident reported hearing a dozen rifle shots; a deputy was notified. 10:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman with chest pain.

May 26--7:17 p.m. A caller reported that a person who was wanted for arrest had been seen in the Deep River area.

May 27--3:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a Cathlamet woman with chest pain. 4:04 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid an Elochoman Valley woman who was very ill. 4:29 p.m. An officer reported clearing off the road large household items that had fallen off a truck on SR 4 near Skamokawa. 5:15 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to aid a woman at the Alger Creek Station who had injured a knee.

May 28--3:27 a.m. A caller reported a woman had fled a house on Puget Island because of a domestic assault; officers responded and to arrest a man, they had to deploy a Taser; the man was charged with two counts of assault.

May 29--2:53 p.m. A caller requested a fire truck to help extinguish an electrical fire in a vehicle on SR 4; the District 4 Fire Department was dispatched. 7:52 p.m. After making a traffic stop, a deputy arrested a driver whose license was suspended. 8:03 a.m. Officers responded to a Cape Horn residence and took into custody a 14-year-old boy who had gone out of control and broken a window with a golf club.
