Sheriff's Report, May 14, 2015

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

May 3 — 12:11 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to a medical alarm at a Puget Island residence. It had been activated accidentally. 4:20 a.m. A caller was concerned about a Cathlamet resident. The resident was contacted and doing fine. 9:53 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who was dizzy, had numbness in his arm and heart burn. LifeFlight was activated. 8:38 p.m. Skamania County requested an assist in a search scheduled for the next day. Three local search and rescue members were dispatched. 11:04 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at a neighboring Puget Island residence. It turned out to be a recovery company involved in the repossession of a vehicle. 11:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Puget Island resident.

May 4 — 10:35 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported fraudulent charges on a credit card. 12:39 p.m. A caller was concerned that a local student was being harassed. 1:14 p.m. A Grays River resident reported a burglary. 3:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosburg resident. 3:20 p.m. A caller requested assistance after being locked out of vehicle. 3:47 p.m. A motorist complained about an erratic driver heading eastbound on SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. The driver was pulled over near County Line Park and taken into custody. 4:47 p.m. A caller requested assistance after being locked out of a vehicle.

May 5 — 12:46 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 2:46 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported the violation of a protection order. 5:31 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that her estranged spouse had stolen something that belonged to her. She was advised that it would remain a civil issue until the marriage dissolution was complete and a civil court made a decision regarding the separation of property. 6:27 p.m. A caller reported that a tree had slid down a hill and was partially blocking a roadway in Grays River.

May 6 — 4:18 a.m. A burglary was reported at a Cathlamet residence. 8:42 a.m. A Puget Island resident reported receiving a suspicious check from an online transaction. Investigation revealed that the check was fraudulent. 6:11 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Elochoman Valley resident with chest pain. 6:40 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported feeling threatened by another individual. The call was referred to the mental health department. 11:55 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Rosedale resident who had fallen.

May 7 — 12:34 a.m. A Rosedale resident reported a suspicious vehicle. 10:33 a.m. A Skamokawa resident reported a theft. 11:47 a.m. A caller reported that an unwanted individual was loitering around a Skamokawa business. 1:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen and hit her head. 1:40 p.m. A caller reported that a partial load of gravel had spilled onto an Elochoman Valley road. 1:50 p.m. The District 4 Fire Department aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen and hit her head. 3:08 p.m. A caller reported a civil dispute over the custody of children. 3:11 p.m. Deputies went to a Puget Island home to take an individual into custody for an order violation. The subject was not there. 11:07 p.m. A Deep River resident reported hearing shots fired.

May 8 — 9:34 a.m. Deputies and the Skamokawa ambulance responded to a traffic accident in Skamokawa. The vehicle was on the side of the road and an elderly man was lying nearby with arm and head injuries. 12:11 p.m. A Skamokawa resident reported that a juvenile had run away. He was located and returned home. The mental health department was notified and en route. 2:45 p.m. A caller reported a dog that was possibly dangerous on Puget Island. 3:10 p.m. A caller reported that a portable toilet had been knocked over. 5:20 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported seeing a suspicious individual looking into a neighbor’s garage. 5:42 p.m. Deputies and the Grays River ambulance responded when a Deep River resident threatened to commit suicide. 6:32 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department responded to the report of a brush fire in the Elochoman Valley. 9:00 p.m. A woman who was seen walking from Longview was taken into custody and a representative from the mental health department was notified and en route.

May 9 — 8:42 a.m. A Rosburg resident reported that he was being harassed over a property dispute. 11:19 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Puget Island address. The responsible party admitted that she had forgotten to disarm the alarm before entering. 11:37 a.m. A caller reported large garbage bags in the middle of the east bound lane of SR 4 just east of Rosedale. 11:40 a.m. A caller reported trees down on a roadway in the Rosburg area. 3:38 p.m. A caller requested assistance after being locked out of a vehicle. 3:56 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosburg residence. 7:01 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that an individual had violated a no contact order. 7:43 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported cows in the roadway. 8:35 p.m. A caller reported cows on a Puget Island roadway. 9:22 p.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department and the Cathlamet ambulance responded when a child got trapped underneath an electric bed. 9:50 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver headed westbound on SR 4. The driver was pulled over and given a breathalyzer test, which he passed. 10:12 p.m. A caller was concerned that an inebriated individual was going to drive. 10:43 p.m. A caller reported an empty vehicle parked in an intersection in the Deep River area. 11:27 p.m. An individual reported that a female inmate at the county jail had smashed his hand with a chair.

May 10 — 11:01 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Rosedale resident who had fallen. LifeFlight was activated, and the District 4 Fire Department assisted with traffic at Mill Creek Road. 12:19 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a man who was vomiting blood. 12:26 p.m. The Grays River ambulance responded to a Rosburg residence after a medical alarm was activated. It was a false alarm.

May 11 — 12:48 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported seeing two subjects attempt to get into her backyard. The two individuals ran away, and the resident found a backpack, which was collected by a deputy. 3:41 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an elderly Elochoman Valley resident who was feeling weak after a recent heart attack. LifeFlight was activated, but due to weather, the landing was moved first from the baseball field in Cathlamet to Mill Creek and finally to the hospital in Longview.
