Sheriff's Report, March 7, 2019

 


Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

February 25 – 8:21 a.m. A caller reported a log truck speeding and causing damage on a Deep River property and road. 10:52 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. 11:14 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual with abdominal pain at the marina in Cathlamet. 11:45 a.m. A caller reported a log truck speeding on a Deep River road. 11:48 a.m. A caller reported a log truck speeding on a Deep River road. 12:49 p.m. A caller reported that a vehicle appeared to have gotten stuck on a logging road east of Cathlamet. 2:49 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with chest pain to the hospital. 8:47 p.m. A caller reported that a cow was loose in the Rosburg area.

February 26 – 12:07 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had fallen. 7:46 a.m. A caller reported a log truck speeding on a Deep River road. 12:31 p.m. Pacific County asked the sheriff’s office to check for a stolen ATV at a Rosburg residence. 2:09 p.m. A caller reported that a motor home parked on a Cathlamet street was blocking a driveway. 4:17 p.m. A caller reported that a log had fallen on SR 4 in the Rosburg area and was blocking one lane of the road. 4:56 p.m. A caller requested a jump start for his vehicle. 6:52 p.m. A caller was concerned about an elderly man sitting in a vehicle with a toddler on Main Street in Cathlamet. A deputy was unable to locate the pair. 9:24 p.m. A caller reported a one vehicle accident west of Stella.

February 27 – 9:42 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with a skull fracture and laceration to the right eye to the hospital. 11:52 p.m. A caller reported a speeding quad and log trucks on a Deep River road. 3:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who had fallen.

February 28 – 3:43 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that someone had opened an account in her name without her permission. 4:13 p.m. A donation box at the covered bridge in Grays River was vandalized. 5:27 p.m. A caller reported a pile of hay in one lane of SR 4 in the Grays River area.

March 1 – 1:15 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 9:32 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Skamokawa resident. 9:49 a.m. A representative from the mental health department was en route to a Rosedale home to aid a depressed individual. 10:02 a.m. A caller reported a fight at a Rosedale address. 12:14 p.m. A caller reported that a log truck was speeding on a Deep River road. 1:22 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident. 5:34 p.m. A caller reported that she had almost been struck head on by a reckless driver on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 9:10 p.m. A caller reported that a restraining order had been violated.

March 2 – 8:37 a.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded when a caller reported that a Puget Island neighbor was burning trash. The fire was in a fire pit and there was no trash detected. 7:14 p.m. A caller reported that an individual who was not allowed on the family property in Skamokawa had stolen a firearm from the home and was harassing the caller.

March 3 – 3:50 a.m. Deputies and the Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual involved in a one vehicle accident on a Puget Island road. 7:54 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident complaining of chest pain. 1:20 p.m. A caller reported that he had left a disabled vehicle along SR 4 in the Grays River area. He planned to pick up the vehicle the next day. 1:22 p.m. A caller reported a possible injured bald eagle on the deck of a building in Cathlamet. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 3:34 p.m. A caller reported a sexual assault. 6:08 p.m. The sheriff’s office was asked to be on the lookout for an individual from Cowlitz County who was possibly suicidal.

March 4 – 3:02 a.m. A caller reported a boulder on SR 4 near County Line Park.
