Coming Events--Community Center in Cathlamet

December 5, 2019

Have you ever wanted to give crocheting a try? Or maybe knitting? Do you have a favorite pair of jeans that you can no longer wear in public due to a massive rip in the rear? Sandy Sews is an ongoing sewing group that is open to everybody, every Thursday 10-12. For those that prefer to use a sewing machine, we have large tables to spread out on. Bring that sweater project that you haven’t worked on lately, or come with a question about a stitch, Sandy’s experience and patience will give you the confidence you need to create something beautiful.

Wahkiakum Outdoors does a remarkable job hosting monthly presentations. If you or your family have not had the opportunity to see one yet, save the date of Dec. 17. As always, it will be at the Hope Center, 6:30 p.m. This month’s presenter will lead us on a solo kayak journey from Alaska to Puget Island. Taking an epic journey, vicariously through others, is always a great time.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made Light Up Night a great event. If you have interest in volunteering, come down to the community center and let’s see where we can plug your enthusiasm. This time of year is a busy blur and it’s easy to get distracted. Perhaps some volunteering is just what you seek to better help you slow down and enjoy the small things.

To all the readers out there; be well and may your weekend bring you unexpected joy- a winning scratch-off ticket? Finding what was lost? Accomplishing that task? Whatever would make you happy, I hope that happens for you.

“Compassion is the radicalism of our time.”
