The 43rd Annual Senior All Star baseball game scheduled at Centralia’s Wheeler Field for Sunday, June 6, was postponed because of rain. It will be played today (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. at Lower Columbia College.

Five local athletes will represent Wahkiakum High School and Naselle High School in the game.

Ashden Niemeyer of Cathlamet and Jimmy Strange and Warren Wirkkala of Naselle will play for the Nationals team in the nine inning game, while Beau Carlson and Chance Cothren of Cathlamet will play for the Americans.

The players were selected from 20 high schools, and from nominations submitted by area high school coaches, according to the press release. The top players will be nominated to play in the All-State Series in Yakima on July 10-11.
