Bill of Responsibilities would be welcomed

To The Eagle:
The U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has forced the Biden administration to suspend implementation of its workplace vaccination requirements. This most conservative appellate court in the country halted the requirements pending review, saying they’re “fatally flawed and raise serious constitutional concerns.”
Show me a deadly virus that gives a crap about the constitution. Fatal flaws? There are three quarters of a million of them in cemeteries across the country- victims who never had the chance to be vaccinated, or even knew of the danger stalking them as the Trump administration downplayed the escalating pandemic at the expense of thousands of American lives.
This is now a pandemic of the unvaccinated. As millions of workers return to their crowded factories, offices and stores, immediate widespread vaccination against COVID-19 is the surest way to protect the U.S. workforce and the public, to avoid reigniting the Covid conflagration and tanking the economy, again.
Reacting to that appalling decision by the Fifth Circuit, the American Medical Association, College of Physicians, Academy of Pediatrics, College of Emergency Physicians, National League for Nursing, National Medical Association, and the American Public Health Association, issued a joint statement supporting Biden’s vaccination policy.
That coalition warns the federal appeals court that “halting ongoing vaccination and testing requirements for private businesses would severely and irreparably harm the public interest as the highly transmissible Delta strain of Covid-19 spreads, posing a grave danger to the American public.”
As the Biden administration strives every way possible to end this pandemic, anti-vaccination fear mongers, anti-mandate trolls and many of contrarian dispositions disguised as moral convictions scorn vaccination in the interest of community health, purporting that choosing not to be immunized is their “sacred right.” I wish the Founders had enumerated a Bill Of Responsibilities instead of a Bill Of Rights.

I developed several sever allergies, which prevents me from taking the vaccine. Some in the 100% vax group yelled at me because I am unable to take the vaccine. I take a powerful anti-viral, Lomatium Dissectum, that kept me out of the hospital April 2020 when my husband brought COVID-19 home after a doctor appointment in Portland. I don't need the vax and it is my right to choose what I put in my body, not the government and certainly not people who are not my doctor. My body, my decision.

our liberty was not invented or granted by our creator. We extend it to each other,actively,not by default. It doesn't take many rotten apples to spoil the prospect of health and freedom for everyone else in our national barrel, so to speak. National life has always required some compromises of individual liberty in order to maintain a modicum of community security.There can be no absolute freedom,nor absolute security.

For the entirety of 2021 we’ve had 3 vaccines approved under the FDA’s emergency use authorization. Yet more people have died in 2021 than in 2020. Our liberty, granted by our creator, is like an apple. It isn’t gone in one swallow, it gets taken away bite by bite. Where should the erosion of our liberties end in the name of ‘safety’? Remember the Bill of Rights doesn’t grant us our rights, it’s supposed to restrict the government’s authority. Have a Merry Christmas.
