Rossetti initiates process for congressional district run

My name is JD Rossetti, and I have begun an exploratory process toward a possible independent run for the U.S. House in Washington’s 3rd Congressional District. I am a Southwest Washington resident, author, and community advocate. I will be entering a listening phase to hear directly from residents about cost-of-living pressures, healthcare access, housing, public safety, rural economic stability, and constitutional accountability. This exploration is motivated by growing concern that many people feel unheard by a political system offering too few meaningful choices.

Recent congressional votes related to Department of Homeland Security funding and civil liberties protections have drawn my attention. I agree with the calls for abolishing ICE and replacing it with an immigration system rooted in due process, transparency, and humanitarian standards. My exploratory process is focused on hearing diverse perspectives to advance meaningful policy and understanding whether there’s meaningful community support for an independent, people-first voice in Congress. I have emphasized that this process is about understanding a wide range of community priorities before deciding whether to move forward with a formal campaign.

This is about listening first. If I continue, it will be because residents across Southwest Washington believe an independent and people-first voice is worth building together. I remain committed to building locally rooted and transparent models of representation that prioritize people over politics that emphasizes love, truth, peace, and life. Power to the People!
