DOH: County case rate up by 9 during past week

 


According to the Washington Department of Health, the number of covid-19 cases being reported in Wahkiakum County in the last week had risen by nine to 562.

Disclaimer: With the easy accessibility of at home tests, the actual number of active covid-19 cases and actual cumulative numbers in the county, are hard to know.

Two more hospitalizations were reported as well, bringing the total number to 36. The number of deaths attributed to covid-19 stands at seven.

While WA DOH is reporting that 74.8 percent of the population of Washington age five and up are fully vaccinated, only 50.8 percent of the total population in Wahkiakum County is fully vaccinated.

The Pfizer vaccine, including a second booster, is available at the WHHS vaccine clinic on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-3 p.m. Call 360-849-4041 for more information.
