Eileen Cain

Frances Eileen Cain died October 19, 2022 at the age of 92 in Kelso. She was born in Port Orchard, to Edward and Elfay (Wilkinson) Murphy on September 5, 1930. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1948. Eileen married Charles (Chuck) Cain on July 19, 1950 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Eileen and Chuck lived between Washington, Montana and Idaho until they finally settled in Port Orchard in 1964.

Eileen was a homemaker, she provided child care for numerous children other than her own. She volunteered at Chuck Wagon, a local grade school helping children with reading and for many years at St. Vincent de Paul in Port Orchard. Eileen was an avid reader, loved jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her family, especially traveling to visit children and grandchildren living out of state.

Eileen moved to Cathlamet in 2019 to live with her daughter, Pam and family.

Eileen is survived by her children Kathleen Kosel (Frank), Pamela Doumit (John), Lawrence Cain (Martha), Daniel Cain (Tanna), Diane Kosel (Tony) and Theresa Krug; her brother Dennis Murphy; 21 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck in 1993; her sister Margaret Erickson; brothers Lawrence, James and John Murphy.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held in Port Orchard on Tuesday, November 8, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service in the church hall. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery following the reception around 1:30 p.m.
