Study abroad options now available for LCC students

Lower Columbia College (LCC) has announced a new opportunity for students: participation in study abroad programs. The new option allows students to take courses with an LCC or other Washington community college instructor for a quarter or summer in another country.

Research shows that study abroad programs provide students with important in-demand skills such as cultural competency, resilience, and problem solving in addition to increasing degree completion.

The first student has already signed up and will study in Rome, Italy this spring, where they will study Sociology of Religion, Introduction to Sociology and Italian Life and Culture. Other students are working on their applications to study in Peru and Japan next fall. Study abroad programs are open to all LCC students, including Running Start students. Students at four-year universities are also welcome to enroll at LCC for a quarter to take advantage of this affordable way to earn credit while studying abroad.

Study abroad options are available to all students, including those with financial need. Learn more about this new opportunity at lowercolumbia.edu/international/study-abroad. Contact the LCC International Programs Office at international@lowercolumbia.edu for questions and additional information.
