Pat Ohrberg

Patricia Lois Ohrberg passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 21, 2023.

Patricia was born Patricia Lois Cavanaugh on November 14, 1938 in Skamokawa, WA to Fred Cavanaugh and Margaret Cavanaugh Berg. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1956 and married Robert David Ohrberg Sr. on January 18, 1957. They made their home on Puget Island where they raised their two children.

Pat was a homemaker for many years when her children were young and enjoyed spending time on the dock with not only her children but the neighbor kids as well. She later became a florist and worked at flower shops in Longview and Cathlamet until she retired. Her gorgeous flower arrangements brightened many days. Pat was a very creative person. She did beautiful embroidery and sewing. Her cooking and baking were second to none. If you stopped in for a visit you were guaranteed to have something delicious to snack on. If you had a question about anything in the kitchen you called her, and she always had the answer.

Pat appreciated the finer things in life. If it sparkled, she liked it. She loved shopping, especially at Nordstrom. Gambling was another favorite activity of hers. She loved a trip to the casino and a good game of cards or Rummikub with friends and family. Pat knew how to have fun.

Of the many roles Pat had in her life, her favorite was mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to care for and spoil her family. It is rumored that she told one of her grandchildren "no" once, but this has never been confirmed.

Patricia is survived by a son Robbie Ohrberg and Kim Burns, a daughter and son-in-law Mary and Mike Hegnes, grandchildren, Matt Ohrberg and his wife Haannah Ohrberg, Ariel Moilanen, Skyler and Kim Moilanen, Abby and Kelby Johnson, Austin and Ashlynn Burns, great grandchildren Max Ohrberg, Adrian Martinez and Mia Moilanen, and Keaton and Kooper Johnson, and sisters Elsie Freerks, Betty Edwards, Kay Jones, and Jan Walsh.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Cavanaugh and Margaret Cavanaugh Berg, husband Robert Ohrberg Sr., sister Diane Bates, and brother Tom Cavanaugh.

The family would like to thank the staff at Delaware Plaza and Hospice for their exceptional care of Pat in her final months.

A memorial service will be held at Julius A. Wendt Elementary School in Cathlamet, WA on Saturday March 11th, 2023 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Pat's name to St. James Family Center.
