Terry Heagy

Terry Leon Heagy 70, lifelong Cathlamet resident, died March 7, 2023 as a result of a car accident.

He was born to Errol and Jean Heagy September 1, 1952 in Longview. Terry grew up in a family of five children. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1970 and worked in his dad’s logging business,which he eventually assumed ownership of, retiring in 2000.

On February 24, 1973, he married Mary Sibert, they had four children and a great family life. They remember his love of gardening and cooking, family trips to Mount St. Helens, The Sea Lion Caves, Crater Lake and The Redwoods, among some of the many places. They had so many great adventures skiing, camping, boating and knee boarding. He loved storytelling and marshmallow roasting around the campfire.

Terry was an amazing husband and father and made their lives such fun, even taking the kids to work with him so they could ride on the equipment. He was the center of their world helping make memories they will never forget.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary, his children Travis Heagy (Darlin), Troy Heagy (Carolyn), Tyler Heagy (Elizabeth), Monica Heagy (Victor), brothers Dennis Barkley (Carol) and Ron Heagy (Lane), six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Terry was preceded by his parents, a sister, Judy and two brothers, Dennis and Steve Heagy. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday March 25 at 1 p.m., at JA Wendt Elementary School. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
