October 15 — 5:49 p.m. A caller reported that four pickups carrying kayaks were speeding on a Puget Island road. 8:57 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a resident on Risk Road. A deputy responded and found the individual alive and well.

October 16 — 12:33 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who fell. 8:45 a.m. A caller reported that two men in a red pickup shot a deer in the rock pit by the fairgrounds in Skamokawa. The caller said it appeared to be a doe. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife was notified. 9:22 a.m. An east county resident found a couple goats. 4:57 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Cathlamet resident. 5:08 p.m. A tree was down, blocking a Grays River road. The county road department was notified and the tree was cleared by 5:36 p.m. 5:15 p.m. A Chevy Suburban was found in timberlands near Bradley Trails. A deputy investigated and learned the vehicle was recently sold. The matter was referred to the Department of Natural Resources. 5:38 p.m. A deputy conducted a welfare check on an individual in a Puget Island home after the sheriff’s department received a referral from Adult Protective Services.

October 17 — 3:41 p.m. A caller reported a Chevy Suburban abandoned north of the Bradley trailhead. He said there were no plates and the vehicle looked like it was stripped. 3:41 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of his driveway. 4:01 p.m. A caller reported an assault and a person was arrested. 4:21 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded when a caller reported that a Cathlamet resident fell down stairs. A deputy was asked to assist because of concerns that the person might become combative. 6:32 p.m. A caller reported that a backpack may have been stolen from a vehicle parked in a Cathlamet parking lot. It contained a textbook and a Chromebook. Cameras at a nearby business were checked. 6:40 p.m. A water outage was reported at a Rosedale home. The Town of Cathlamet was notified and someone was en route. 7:51 p.m. A caller reported that an erratic driver on SR 4 pulled into the parking lot at Nassa Point. A deputy responded and said both occupants appeared to be intoxicated and that the driver had two unconfirmed warrants and was driving without a license. State patrol arrived and took over the scene.

October 18 — 7 a.m. A caller reported that a deer was lying on the fog line of SR 4 in the Cathlamet area. 10:12 a.m. A caller said two vehicles heading west on SR 4 near Bunker Hill were traveling at high speeds and appeared to have collided multiple times. The caller believed they might be involved in a road rage incident or hit and run. Deputies responded but were unable to locate the vehicles. State patrol and authorities in Cowlitz County were alerted. 12:11 p.m. A caller reported that several vehicles were speeding on a Deep River road. 2:48 p.m. A caller was concerned about a dog that was left in a car near Erickson Park. 4:19 p.m. Several power outages were reported on Puget Island, and in Rosedale, Cathlamet and east county. The PUD responded. 5:07 p.m. A caller reported that a westbound vehicle was unable to maintain the lane on SR 4. 5:14 p.m. A parent reported that a juvenile was supposed to meet a friend to go fishing but never showed up. The youth was found at 5:52 p.m. 7:27 p.m. An alarm was activated at a Rosedale address. A deputy responded. It turned out to be an alarm for a fuel pump. Everything else appeared to be secure. 7:43 p.m. An ID was found. 7:56 p.m. An East Valley resident said she came home to find her gate open. She said she usually kept the gate secured with a chain and lock. She checked the footage on her security camera and discovered someone trespassed. A deputy spoke with the property owners and saw footage of someone knocking on their door and then leaving.

October 19 — 10:48 a.m. A welfare check was requested for an East Valley resident. A deputy spoke with the person’s mother. 3:42 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person in Skamokawa after she lost consciousness. The person refused transport to the hospital. 4:57 p.m. A caller said that a man was sitting between the dumpsters on Puget Island. The caller was concerned that the man might begin searching the dumpsters after he left. 5:17 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded when a Skamokawa resident said his wife was choking. The individual refused transport to the hospital. 5:55 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. 7:19 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Rosedale resident. A caller reported that a Puget Island resident’s controlled burn was still going after it grew dark outside. The Puget Island Fire Department and a deputy responded.

October 20 — 6:04 a.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported hearing a shot fired in the no shoot zone. State patrol and WDFW were notified. 10:03 a.m. A Skamokawa business reported fraudulent activity. 1:14 p.m. A Rosedale resident reported that he was a victim of identity theft. A deputy responded and determined that the caller’s claim was unfounded. 1:59 p.m. A caller reported a person riding a dirt bike erratically up and down a Deep River road. 10:47 p.m. A man, believed to be intoxicated, was arrested after callers reported that he was seen chasing a woman and yelling into the windows of the Hotel Cathlamet. 11:09 p.m. An East Valley resident reported hearing shots fired. 11:13 p.m. A visitor to Vista Park reported hearing multiple shots fired.

October 21 — 11:57 a.m. A person in Cathlamet requested a jump start. 1:32 p.m. A business owner told a deputy that a partner stole from their business. 6:18 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was unable to stand and was having trouble breathing. 7:39 p.m. A caller reported that a woman was screaming. She was standing in a truck pull out area along SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. A few minutes later, the caller said she realized a child was actually doing the screaming when the woman approached her home.

October 22 — 12:53 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance and a deputy provided a lift assist to a Rosedale resident. 4:02 p.m. A caller reported an erratic westbound driver traveling at a high rate of speed and passing cars on SR 4 a couple miles west of County Line Park. 6:40 p.m. A man was reported to be intoxicated and climbing on another person’s travel trailer at the trailer park in Rosedale. The caller said the man was known to carry knives. A deputy responded.
