October 29 7:27 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person with a headlamp walking around a Cathlamet property. A deputy responded and it was discovered that the subject was known to the caller. 7:41 p.m. A person was arrested when a warrant was served at a Glengate home.

October 30 2:58 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing person at a Puget Island residence. 11:47 a.m. A caller reported what appeared to be an overturned boat near Coffee Pot Island. It was later discovered to be a piece of wood floating in the river. 5:16 p.m. A caller said someone on East Sunny Sands Road was burning illegal material. A deputy and the Puget Island Fire Department responded and the matter was investigated. 5:39 p.m. A caller reported two reckless drivers on North Welcome Slough. Deputies responded but were unable to locate the vehicles. 6:52 p.m. Sounds of screaming and a screeching vehicle were reported in the 100 block of East Valley Road. Deputies responded and warning was issued for activity on county property. 7:33 p.m. A truck went into a ditch along SR 4 in the Cathlamet area and damaged a traffic sign. No injuries were reported. A deputy, the Cathlamet ambulance, and the District 4 Fire Department responded. State patrol was notified. A tow was requested and the driver was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and for driving with the wheels off the roadway. 10:14 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that someone was in her barn. She said only one person was authorized to be there, but she didn’t want to check to see if it was him. A deputy responded and attempted to notify the caller when he found the authorized person in the barn, but was unable to make contact. 10:14 p.m. A caller asked to be transported to her home when her vehicle broke down at a Rosedale business. She thought she might have used the wrong gas. A deputy responded and the vehicle was running by 10:47 p.m. 10:31 p.m. A caller reported that a noisy black truck’s engine had been running for about a half hour in his Rosedale neighborhood. The vehicle left a couple minutes later and headed west on SR 4.

October 31 12:04 a.m. A caller found an unoccupied vehicle down a ravine on a logging road near Abernathy Road. It looked like it had been there for a few days, the caller said. A deputy from Cowlitz County responded and said the vehicle was a couple miles up the road, into Wahkiakum County. A deputy agreed to try and locate the vehicle later in the day and attempted to contact Weyerhaeuser. Authorities in Lewis County were contacted and asked to do a welfare check on the registered owner of the vehicle. 1:12 a.m. A burglary alarm was activated at a Puget Island residence. A deputy responded and found everything secure. There were no signs of forced entry. 2:24 a.m. The Cathlamet Fire Department was notified when someone got stuck in the Hotel Cathlamet’s elevator. Three minutes later, a caller said the elevator doors opened and the person was able to exit. 2:37 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident who fell. He refused transport to the hospital. 2:48 p.m. A welfare check was requested for an Alger Creek resident when a medical alarm was activated and the alarm company could not make contact. A responsible party reported that the person no longer had a medical alarm, and therefore could not have set it off. 3:30 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an Elochoman Valley resident who was feeling faint. 4:12 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person in Cathlamet complaining of chest pain. 6:39 p.m. A caller reported a lost key. 7:05 p.m. A white truck with flags was seen speeding around Puget Island roads. It was a recurring problem, the caller said, and a daily patrol was requested. 7:26 p.m. A Puget Island resident alleged that someone came into his home and stole mail and private financial information. He added that a known person was accessing his home frequently, using his washer and dryer, and appearing in the windows and on the roof. A deputy responded and requested assistance from state patrol. The individual appeared to be confused but was known to have dementia. The deputy helped secure the residence to make sure the resident felt safe. 10:17 p.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that his step-daughter was outside his home. She was not wanted and would not leave, he said. He asked to have her trespassed. State patrol responded and the person was trespassed. 11:31 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance was asked to aid a state trooper with a hand injury.

November 1 1:53 a.m. An inmate in the county jail was threatened by another inmate. 7:04 a.m. A deputy was asked by an outside agency to deliver news of a death to a family member living in the county. 12:02 p.m. A caller reported that someone vandalized the Rosburg store with graffiti. 12:34 p.m. A caller asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 2:33 p.m. A driver said he slid off of a Puget Island road and hit a pole. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. No injuries were reported and both people in the car refused transport to the hospital. 3 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Cathlamet resident and then retracted when the person made contact with the concerned party. 3:10 p.m. A Puget Island resident said two cows were missing from their pasture. The cows were found at 3:48 p.m. 11:06 p.m. A trespasser was reported on a Puget Island property.

November 2 4:55 a.m. An East Valley resident reported two males trespassing on his property. He said they left on foot and were now on the other side of the road. A deputy responded and spoke to one of the subjects who claimed he was trying to walk to a nearby residence, but was lost. He was warned about trespassing. 6:39 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island resident complaining of tightness radiating from her shoulder to her lower body. 10:46 a.m. The sheriff’s department received a referral from Adult Protective Services for a Rosburg resident. A transaction at a bank was stopped and the account owner was advised to be aware of scams and fraud. 11:47 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a small child residing in the RV park in Rosedale and not attending school. A deputy responded and the child was transferred to the custody of Child Protective Services. 12:42 p.m. The Grays River ambulance and the Grays River Fire Department aided a Grays River resident who injured her head in a fall. 1:08 p.m. A caller said batteries were stolen from a road sign at a work area along SR 4. 3:18 p.m. A caller reported an abandoned trailer in the fairgrounds parking lot in Skamokawa. 3:36 p.m. A caller reported that he dropped his phone on his work route and was unable to locate it. Someone answered when he tried calling his number and then hung up.

November 3 7:07 a.m. The sheriff’s department received a referral from Adult Protective Services for a person in Cathlamet. 7:21 a.m. A caller reported that people were camping on timber land in Deep River. A deputy responded and found the campsite, but no one was there.

He left a note explaining that they were trespassing and that he would check back later. At 12:13 p.m., he made contact with the campers and they agreed to be gone by nightfall. 1:34 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing person at a Cathlamet address. 2:47 p.m. An outside agency asked for assistance with a stolen vehicle investigation. 3:50 p.m. A Cathlamet resident asked if a deputy would check on their house while they were out of town. 4:11 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported finding a suspicious vehicle at her residence when she arrived home. The person left soon after. 5:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident who may have suffered a stroke. 5:33 p.m. A caller asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 5:58 p.m. An Elochoman Valley resident reported that someone left a package with blue blinking lights in his driveway. He was concerned that it was a bomb. A deputy responded and found a broken vape. 8:07 p.m. Multiple residents along Altoona/Pillar Rock Road and in Rosburg reported power outages.

November 4 6:04 a.m. Power outages were reported along Altoona/Pillar Rock Road. 6:06 p.m. Power outages were reported on the east side of the county. A tree fell on a power line in the Cape Horn area. 6:34 a.m. A Grays River resident said her husband was holding a subject on their front porch at gunpoint after he was allegedly seen breaking into their garage. An officer from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife responded from the Oneida boat launch and requested an ambulance to attend to head injuries sustained by the detained person. The Grays River ambulance responded, but the man refused transport to the hospital. He returned to his residence and was trespassed from the property. 11:23 a.m. A Puget Island resident requested a welfare check after someone said they heard sounds of screaming nearby. A deputy responded and observed some duck hunters. All seemed well. 2:05 p.m. Power outages were reported in Grays River. 2:15 p.m. A tree was down, blocking both lanes of SR 4 in Grays River. 4:22 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious male riding a bike in the Elochoman Valley area. 10:43 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person who fell and was complaining of numbness in her legs.

November 5 4:38 a.m. A caller reported that someone was camping in a no camping zone in Deep River and blocking the Deep River mainline with a travel trailer, SUV and truck. 8:37 a.m. An injured fawn was found along Altoona/Pillar Rock Road. 10:25 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person in Cathlamet complaining of chest pain. 1:03 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported an injured Canadian goose. The WDFW was notified. 3:31 p.m. A caller reported a possible drunk driver stopped at Nassa Point. 4:02 p.m. A caller hung up after dialing 911. Dispatch called back and the person said he was struggling to breathe. Emergency personnel in Skamokawa responded to the person’s home.
