January 8 10:17 a.m. A caller said an off road vehicle fell off a trailer and was sitting upside down in the middle of SR 4 on the west side of KM. State patrol responded. 4:41 p.m. An East Valley resident reported that a travel trailer had been stolen. 7:13 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance responded to an Elochoman Valley home after a person fell from a ladder and an AC unit fell on her foot. 9:35 p.m. A tree fell, blocking the east bound lane of SR 4 on KM. 10:16 p.m. Several callers reported power outages in the Elochoman Valley area. The PUD responded and was able to restore power by 11:30 p.m. 10:46 p.m. Power outages were reported on Puget Island. The PUD responded and was able to restore power by 11:40 p.m. 11:17 p.m. Power outages were reported in the Rosburg area. The PUD was notified. 11:53 p.m. A caller said a tree was down on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 11:54 p.m. A caller said a large piece of a tree was down partially blocking the westbound lane of SR 4 in the Skamokawa area. The county road department responded.

January 9 12:37 a.m. A caller said a tree was down on Altoona/Pillar Rock Road. A deputy responded and asked for assistance after discovering it was too big to handle alone. The county road department responded. 12:45 a.m. An East Valley resident reported a power outage and said that a tree was down in the 800 block of East Valley Road. The PUD, a deputy, and the Skamokawa Fire Department responded. 2:06 a.m. The county road department cleared a large tree that had fallen on Barr Road. 4:31 a.m. A caller reported a large rock in the westbound lane of SR 4 in the Abe Creek Hill area. State patrol responded. 4:39 a.m. A Cathlamet resident asked for assistance when a person in the home became erratic and was punching windows. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. A mental health professional was requested. The deputy was asked to accompany ambulance personnel because the person was hallucinating. 5:12 a.m. A caller accidentally dialed 911. 6:24 a.m. A Middle Valley resident reported a power outage. The PUD was notified. 7:16 a.m. High water was reported on Eden Valley Road. 7:58 a.m. A caller reported that a vehicle hit some trees on Risk Road. A deputy responded and said it appeared that a tree may have fallen on the vehicle. Some limbs of the tree had been cut off. The vehicle was unoccupied. A person related to the owner said it would be towed to his property. 1:10 p.m. A caller said a tree was down on Deep River Road. 1:12 p.m. Dispatch received a 911 call with noise in the background but no one appeared to be on the line. An attempted call back went straight to voice mail. 1:28 p.m. A caller said a boat house came loose from it’s mooring and had come to rest in the slough near her property. She was not sure where it came from. 2:49 p.m. A caller said a power box on Columbia Street blew three times and the power on the east side was out. The PUD responded. 2:52 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported a power outage. 2:54 p.m. A large limb was reported to be on SR 4 near Nassa Point. 3:24 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a resident on East Valley Road. A deputy responded. 4:37 p.m. A caller reported that a boat was floating down the Columbia River near Mill Creek and no one appeared to be in it. The U.S. Coast Guard and authorities in Cowlitz County were notified. 10:07 p.m. A caller said his car was stuck on SR 4 near Nassa Point. A deputy responded and found the car sitting sideways in the middle of SR 4. The vehicle was moved off the road the the occupants were taken home. 10:27 p.m. A caller said that two vehicles were stuck on the west side of KM. After speaking to a plow driver, a deputy responded and the vehicle occupants were transported. 10:31 p.m. A caller said a car was in a ditch along SR 4 in the Alger Creek area. A deputy, the Cathlamet ambulance, and the Cathlamet Fire Department responded. The vehicle was located. It had rolled over, and one person had gotten out, but a 10 month old baby and mother were still inside. At 10:55 p.m., all occupants were free of the vehicle and all denied any more aid. 10:49 p.m. A driver went into a ditch along SR 4 near the school access road in Cathlamet. A deputy and the District 4 Fire Department responded. No injuries were reported. 11:01 p.m. A power outage was reported west of Cathlamet. The PUD responded. 11:17 p.m. Heavy snow was reported. Two Washington State Department of Transportation plows were in the area and the county road department began plowing as well. A tree was reported to be down on SR 4 on east side of KM. Fire and EMS units responded and cleared the roadway. Trees were reported to be down on SR 4 near County Line Park, partially blocking the westbound lane. A deputy cleared one tree before heading east where a WSDOT plow was seen clearing a second tree. The county was advised that a large tree was blocking SR 4 in the Mill Creek area, and had taken down a power line. The Cowlitz PUD was notified. Another vehicle was said to be off the road at the Cowlitz/Wahkiakum line on Beaver Creek. The county road department said one truck was working on Beaver Creek and Elochoman roads and the other was working on East Valley, West Valley, and Middle Valley Roads before heading to Puget Island. Greenwood, Fern Hill, Cochran, and Clover Roads would remain unplowed for the time being, according to the report.

January 10 12:29 a.m. A caller said a person walking along SR 4 near County Line Park was not dressed for the weather and refusing a ride. Authorities in Cowlitz County were advised. At 1:20 a.m., an attempt was made to contact emergency warming center coordinators, but there was no answer. 7:44 a.m. A caller reported that a tree fell and knocked the power out at an Elochoman Valley home. The PUD was notified. 9:37 a.m. A car went off the road near the eastern base of KM and hit a tree. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle but had possible injuries. A deputy and the Cathlamet ambulance responded. 12:10 p.m. A caller was concerned that a roommate might be suicidal. 5:38 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with a possible blood clot in his left leg to the hospital. 8:45 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident who was having trouble breathing. 9:08 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance provided a lift assist at a Cathlamet home.

January 11 5:12 a.m. A Rosedale resident said someone was at his home and wouldn’t leave. Deputies responded. 12:31 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle with a shattered windshield in the parking lot at the marina. 1:05 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an individual who hit her head in a fall. 2:44 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Puget Island resident. 3:29 p.m. A caller asked for assistance after getting locked out of a vehicle. 10:08 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at a Rosedale business with license tabs that had not been renewed in three years. A deputy responded and spoke with the driver who said he just bought the vehicle.

January 12 8:59 a.m. A caller reported water over SR 4 by the passing lanes on the east end of the county. The caller was concerned that a nearby culvert might be blocked and that the water would cause a lot of ice on the roadway. 9:23 a.m. A caller reported a small sport boat on Coffee Pot Island. No one appeared to be around it. The Coast Guard was notified. 9:35 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance transported a clinic patient with a fast growing rash to the hospital. 7:23 p.m. A caller reported that her ex-boyfriend violated their parenting plan. 8:38 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious person on their property in Rosedale. 9:31 p.m. A dog sitter said he let the dog out at a Puget Island home and the dog had not returned. Deputies were able to locate the dog and return him to the home.

January 13 12:40 a.m. A disabled and unoccupied vehicle was found at County Line Park. Inside were a glass marijuana pipe and a jar full of marijuana in plain view. 11:29 a.m. A caller reported that goats were being neglected on a Puget Island property. 1:02 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a person with possible frostbite. 4:59 p.m. A caller reported a disabled vehicle blocking SR 409 near Little Island Road. It turned out to have a dead battery. The motorists received assistance and they were able to get the vehicle off the roadway. Later it was learned that the driver was stuck at the location and that her phone battery had died. A deputy responded.

January 14 4:30 a.m. A Rosedale resident said he heard a boom and saw a flash before losing power. The PUD responded and power was restored at 6:30 a.m. 11:48 a.m. A caller said a WSDOT plow truck blew through a stop sign on Puget Island and nearly hit his vehicle. 12:53 p.m. A caller said several individuals in ATVs were treating the road in the Glengate area like a race track. A second caller said they were racing up and down Columbia Street. State patrol responded and a warning was given. 8:10 p.m. A caller reported a possible broken water main in Grays River. The PUD was notified. Water was back on at 2:48 a.m.
