Sheriff's Report

March 10 5:38 p.m. A Deep River resident called to report that their water was off on Rangila Rd., PUD was notified of the outage. 7:18 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of an erratic driver headed onto SR409 from SR4, the vehicle was reported to be driving all over the roadway.

March 11 3:39 p.m. A caller on SR4 reported an erratic driver near the S curve in the westbound lane who was weaving through traffic and going between the lanes; WSP was notified and pulled over the driver. 5:01 p.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report a power outage at their residence on Wages Wy; the PUD was notified. 5:10 p.m. A caller reported finding needles at fishing spot on 900 block of Elochoman Valley Road.

March 12 3:10 p.m. The Puget Island Fire Department responded to reports of a fire with large plumes of smoke a resident was seeing on SR409; the fire department confirmed that it was a controlled burn.

March 13 11:00 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to report ongoing dog barking; their neighbor’s dogs had been barking for nearly 45 minutes.

March 14 8:12 a.m. A Cathlamet resident called to report that a suspicious vehicle followed them home and had been lingering around the area for a few weeks. 9:47 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about four dogs that were in a pen and had been barking. When deputies arrived, two of the dogs were outside but did not bark until their vehicle was close. 11:04 a.m. District #4 Fire Department responded to calls of power outages at several residences on Elochoman Valley Rd. 12:30 p.m. A driver on E SR4 called to request assistance after locking their keys in their vehicle. 7:10 p.m. A Deep River resident called to report an erratic driver traveling at a high rate of speed on West Deep River Rd. traveling northbound. 10:01 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle with its flashers on, pulled over on the side of the eastbound lane on SR4 near the Chevron, on the white line. 10:44 p.m. A concerned driver called to report that a motorcycle was parked close to the road on SR4 and Bjornsgard Rd. in the eastbound land and that they almost hit it.

March 15 1:26 p.m. The Cathlamet Ambulance responded to transport an elderly Cathlamet resident to the hospital. 5:00 p.m. A Cathlamet business owner called to request a welfare check on an elderly customer who had fallen in the parking lot.

March 16 10:56 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies performed a welfare check on an elderly Cathlamet resident after a family called to request one; the resident seemed to be safe and of sound mind. 12:09 p.m. A Puget Island resident called to request a welfare check on their neighbor after noticing the dog had been crying nonstop for four days and that they had not seen the neighbor in four days either. 5:19 p.m. The Cathlamet Emergency Services responded to help an elderly Puget Island resident who was having breathing difficulty. 6:34 p.m. A caller on Main Street in Cathlamet reported seeing a vehicle hit a post and drive off erratically towards Puget Island.
