Patricia L. Tate

Patricia “Patti” L. Tate, 80 of Longview, longtime Cathlamet resident, passed on November 2nd at Richard Nau Hospice in Longview. She was born on October 4, 1945 to Carl and Jeannette (Ott) Tate in Abington, Pennsylvania.

Patti attended school in Cathlamet and graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1963. She married Albert Bergseng in 1964, they had three sons and later divorced. Patti was creative and enjoyed the farm where she raised her children. She enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and her family. She later worked as a medical assistant at St John Medical Center and the Cathlamet Clinic. Patti was well loved and will be missed.

Patti is survived by her sons Loren and Bobby Bergeseng, a sister, Julie Whitrock, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brother in law and sister-in-law, Gary and Vicki Bergseng, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in 2024 by her son, Kris Bergseng.

A private family service will be held. She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
