Jeanne Paulsen, 83, passed away on Nov. 12. Jeanne was born on May 29, 1942 in Longview to Glen and Freda (Gish) Bowen. After graduating from Onalaska High School in 1960 she married Mickey Paulsen and moved to Cathlamet, where they raised their 3 children. Mickey preceded her in death in 2012.
Jeanne worked in the Wahkiakum County Prosecutors office from 1978-1990.
She helped statewide with computer training for the prosecutors. Jeanne enjoyed writing, reading, gardening and travel. Jeanne and Mickey enjoyed going south in the winters and in Octobers in Cottonwood, Ariz., and on to Yuma. She spent two terms on the Wahkiakum County School Board in the 1970s and 1980. She was the Insurance and Convention Conference chair person for the Washington State Log Truckers Association.
She was a member of Oak Point Community Church where she played the organ and was part of the worship team. Jeanne was a self taught pianist in her older years.
Jeanne is survived by her on Mike Paulsen and two Daughters, Laureen Paulsen and Judy Gaffney, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and her grandchildren, Blue Weston and Clare Gaffney . In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jeanne’s name to Clare Beckett Guild for Seattle Children's Hospital C/O Judy Gaffney, 3075 Quinalt Ct SW, Issaquah, WA, 98027.
A private family service will be held. Dowling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
