HELLO. Welcome, library members, readers, and Wahkiakum residents to our monthly update.
GINGERBREAD HOUSES. Saturday, Nov. 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring your gingerbread houses to Pioneer Center (125 Columbia St.) for final decoration in celebration of the annual Tree Lighting and Lighted Parade event. Cookies, cocoa, and tea will be provided.
YOUTH OPEN HOUSE. Friday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is our Library House Warming for Youth event. Pizza by the slice will be available for all youth. Come on in and enjoy.
LIBRARY HEALTHCARE. Saturday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. attend our Library Healthcare event. A mobile healthcare unit from Longview will be there at the library to provide blood pressure and vision screenings, blood glucose screenings, A1C testing, BMI and telehealth, mental health screenings, and health and vaccine education. This is on a first come, first served basis.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR. Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2 to 7:30 p.m. we will have a table at the Christmas Bazaar at Naselle-Grays River Valley school. We hope to see you there.
STORY TIME. Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11 a.m. inside the library we have our weekly story time. Come visit, relax, and enjoy.
LIBRARY AFTER DARK. Every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., the library is open for an informal social gathering. Also, various activities are available along with a warm welcoming atmosphere provided by table lamps.
D & D. Dungeons and Dragons takes place the first through fourth Wednesdays each month from 6 to 8 p.m. For grades 6–12, the group meets in the Community Room below the library. The Siblings & Family group meets in the Pioneer Center. Please stop by if you are interested.
WESTEND DELIVERY. Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m., the weekly Westend Delivery service is at the Rosburg Fire Station. Patrons who pick-up a book, DVD, or pass also receive two Cottage restaurant chocolate chip cookies at the delivery.
CULTURAL PASSES. The following four different passes are available: Clatsop County Historical Society, Discover, Oregon State Park day-parking, and Columbia River Maritime Museum. Reserve your pass ahead of time. There is a limit of one per family.
CARD DISCOUNTS. Welcome aboard Little Island Creamery! Beginning Saturday, Nov. 29, you can receive 15 percent off discounts with your library card! Continue to enjoy this benefit at Patty Cakes, The Spar, The Video Store, Little Woo's, JJ's Pizza & Mohr, Naselle Coffee, and Puget Island Gardens.
CRAFT TABLE. Visit the kids and adults craft table in the library. New additions are added as the seasons change, holidays happen, and months turn. Come and enjoy at your leisure.
JIGSAW PUZZLE. A jigsaw puzzle is available every day at a corner nook. Relax, enjoy, and see how far you can get.
STILL WAITING? The Top 10 Libby ebooks can be a long wait sometimes. We have the physical books on our 'Still Waiting?' book shelf. Come on in and check out the one you want.
WORK SPECIALIST. Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Diana Zimmerman from Employ Wahkiakum assists job seekers with job searches, resumes, cover letters, and more.
FREE COOKIES. The library offers free cookies on both Fridays and Saturdays, as well as Thursdays at our Westend Delivery service.
NOTARY SERVICE. Free notary service is available Thursday and Saturday at 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30 p.m. Please schedule ahead.
LIBRARY CARDS. Cathlamet library cards are free for all Wahkiakum residents. Cathlamet Public Library is located at 115 Columbia St. and is open Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m.
