Chantel Dee Spiering would do anything for anyone. It was simply who she was. On Jan. 2, 2026, she passed away peacefully at home. Her strength and grace was unwavering to the end.
Chantel grew up in Clatskanie, Ore., and graduated from the University of Portland. She built a successful career at Intel while maintaining a thoughtful balance of family and friendships. Brilliant, articulate, and deeply generous, Chantel lived with purpose and heart. Her belief in optimism and renewal shaped how she lived and how she supported others through life's challenges.
A passionate traveler, she believed a trip should always be on the horizon. Maui held a special place in her heart, as she grew up vacationing in Lahaina and creating lasting family memories there.
Chantel and her mother, Cheryl, shared an unbreakable bond. Cheryl was her devoted confidant and constant source of strength. Above all, Chantel was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kyrah. They shared a love of horses and a home always filled with cherished pets. Chantel was Kyrah's mentor, steady presence, and guiding light. Chantel's beloved dogs, Zayda and Koa, brought comfort and joy to them both.
Chantel is survived by her husband, Herb Spiering; her daughter, Kyrah Spiering; her mother, Cheryl Morrisey; her brother, Tod Morrisey, his wife, Michelle Freedman, and their daughter, Liliana Morrisey; her sister, Nicole Morrisey O'Donnell, her husband, Bob O'Donnell, and their son, Nick O'Donnell, his wife, Carley O'Donnell, and their three children.
