To The Eagle: There’s an effort afoot to start a local Toastmaster’s club – basically a group that meets weekly to have fun developing speaking skills ranging from technical to humorous, from sublime to ridiculous. Dolores Nadine Nelson, 87, of Rosburg, died December 6, 2018 at Canterbury Gardens in Longview. She was born December 31, 1930 to Rudolph and Ellen (Keranen) Larson. She was a lifelong Wahkiakum County resident attending Naselle-Grays River Valley schools. She married Roy Nelson on May 8, 1948 and they raised their children in Rosburg, where she worked at Appelo's Store as a clerk for many years. The Wahkiakum County PUD Board of Commissioners got an update on how conservation dollars were being used, learned about water pressure issues on Puget Island and approved a resolution that authorized a mutual aid agreement for a water system intertie in Skamokawa.
