Visitors and friends attending the fair had a wonderful group of people to welcome them through our Wahkiakum County Fair gates. Carol G. Quigley, 91, of Cathlamet passed away at Hospice Care Center in Longview on September 7, 2012. Carol was born on November17,1920 to Robert and Agnes (Peterson) Burch in Astoria, Ore. She was a lifelong Wahkiakum resident. Carol graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1938 and married Frank Quigley that summer. She worked alongside Frank on the farm and driving logging trucks for their logging business. Pacific Crest Construction and its subcontractors are hard at work building a new waste water treatment plant for the town of Cathlamet.
