Judy Lee (Heagy) Houk died May 25, 2011 in Bend Ore. She was born on May 22, 1940 in Seattle to Errol and Betty (Freeman) Heagy. At two years old, Judy, her father, her new mother Jean and brothers Dennis Lewis and Dennis Errol moved toward the Columbia River region. Her father, Errol working in the ship yards during WWII. With the addition of a new little brother, Steve, the family migrated to Skamokawa where Errol and his brother began a logging business. Carol Jean Albrecht, 76 of Woodland, died May 25, 2011 in Longview after a six year fight against cancer. She was born October 29, 1935 to Francis and Maud (Harris) Tower in Raymond. She married Fred Albrecht there on March 1, 1958. He survives her. She was educated at Centralia Community College and worked as an accounting technician at a Veterans Administration Hospital until she retired in 1995. In a special meeting Tuesday, the Cathlamet Town Council confirmed the hiring of a new manager for the Julia Butler Hansen Municipal Swimming Pool. She is Cathlamet resident Kayla Pugh. She was head life guard at the pool last year, working for former manager Lynette Ledgerwood. Pugh previously worked as a lifeguard seven years in Clatskanie.
