Set in a high school, athlete Scotty Macbeth wants more, but Duncan Morro is in his way.     The Naselle-Grays River Valley Schools Drama Club has announced their production of Macbeth: Off-Kilter, which will be performed on Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 26 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and students.     The 2016 Wahkiakum Mule baseball season got off to a good start with four wins in the last week against Naselle, Vernonia and Mossyrock. Last Wednesday, the Mules beat the Naselle Comets 6-0 in a game that had been postponed due to rain the day before. Pitcher Zach Brown got the win. On offense, Z. Brown went 1-3. These included the retirements of Principals Karen Wirkkala at the K-12 school and Alan Bennett at the Youth Camp School.     The Naselle Middle School knowledge bowl teams competed in their final meet on February 26 at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen. The Naselle 8th grade team consisted of Abby Moten, Zanith Wulf, Haley Depoe, Jaclyn Steenerson, Hannah Wirkkala, Cody Condon, and Ethan Lindstrom. The 8th grade team competed against 14 other teams from Elma, Montesano, Ocosta, North Beach, Hoquiam, Ilwaco and Wishkah.     Darlene M. Haataja, 88, a life long resident of the Altoona-Rosburg area, died at her home in Rosburg on February 23, 2016. Both her father and mother were of Finnish ancestry, and she was born at home in Altoona on June 17, 1927, the daughter of Helge and Jenny (Buskala) Saari. She grew up on the family farm, attended Altoona grade school and graduated from Naselle high school. Following high school she worked at the Altoona fish cannery.     Robert Fauver, of Deep River, died February 15, 2016. He was born April 20, 1927 in Spring Valley, Minn., to David C. and Blanche (Stuhr) Fauver. His family moved from Minnesota to Deep River in 1937. He graduated from Naselle High School in 1946 and joined the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea during World War II.
