News from Naselle: Sports calendar for the Naselle Comet teams this coming week: The Naselle Comet football team beat Lyle/Wishram 68-38 last weekend to advance to the state Class 1B football semifinals. They'll face Almira-Coulee-Hartline (ACH) next Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee. This year North Coast Chorale will present their winter concert on Friday December 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 9 at 3 p.m. The Chorale has chosen the theme “Sing of Mary” for the enjoyment of their audience at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) as they celebrate the life of Mary through music. Tickets to the concert can be purchased at the door for $10, with children under 12 free when accompanied by an adult. Members of the Sons of Norway are inviting all children 10 years old and younger to a Christmas party to be held at the Norse Hall from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday December 2. The hall is located on Puget Island, 144 SR 409, Cathlamet. Activities will include cookie decorating, bingo, crafts and more. Refreshments will be served. Small gift bags will be given. NOT BAD--While we woke up to some very chilly temperatures last week, the sunshine that showed up on Saturday after some foggy conditions was quite nice, even though it wasn't super warm out there, as it only got up to 45 that day. Wahkiakum High School sophomore Beau Carlson continues to rest at home. Carlson suffered a head injury during a football game with Adna in September. He came home on October 31 after spending a month in a Portland hospital battling a life threatening infection and undergoing a second brain surgery. He spent the last month in a Portland hospital battling a life threatening infection and undergoing a second brain surgery. Halloween in western Wahkiakum County is unique from the rest of the state as well as the country. At Johnson Park's haunted gathering, it was anything but scary. The adults were having as much fun as the children. Wes and Shonda Ware worked hard in the cafeteria kitchen preparing free hotdogs, chips, cookies, punch, and coffee while the children watched movies.
