The Lower Columbia College Fighting Smelt Speech & Debate Team began their competition season with a strong result at the Fran Tanner Open tournament hosted by the College of Southern Idaho on September 28-29. WAS GORGEOUS--The weather at the end of the work week last week, was just like Summer, sunny and warm and just plain gorgeous. The weekend began cloudy however and by evening time, we wound up being quite wet. On Sunday we had a little more dampness and we started the work week the same way. Once again, dogs of all breeds, and unknown breeding will gather at Misty River Plantation, 117 Cross Dike Road on Puget Island, this Saturday and Sunday, Sept 29-30, for lure coursing. The events are a timed straight 100 yard dash in the mornings and longer random coursing runs in the afternoon. NIPPY--We started this work week with some low lying fog and the air temperature was in the 40s, so definitely on the cooler side. Once the fog lifted, it was a very nice, sunny begining to the week. Pleasant temperatures are supposed to be with us for a few days, like in the low 70s, so until the rain returns on Friday, we should have some nice days to enjoy.
