Retirement move from Virginia to Deep River Victor and Wendy Liguori made a major move when they both retired from good jobs in Virginia, she as a medical assistant and Victor in medical security. Knowing they wanted to move, they looked through the real estate offerings on Zoom. They saw a property in Deep River, Washington, that appealed to them, so they checked on it and thinking it might be just what they were looking for: property on a river with fishing; a good climate for a garden; and as...

BACK AGAIN--I am back in the present, with both telephone and internet, at least for the moment. It was a quiet couple of weeks, which was fairly nice in one way, as those annoying campaign calls and other robo calls weren’t waking me up, but it sure is hard to gather news and write a column when you’re out in the sticks and have no way to communicate, or send a column in via email! Song By Randy Newman - “I think it’s going to rain today” Broken windows and empty hallways A pale dead moon in the sky streaked with gray Human kindness is overflowing And I think it's going to rain today Scarecrows dressed in the latest styles With frozen smiles to chase love away Human kindness is overflowing And I think it's going to rain today Bright before me the signs implore me To help the needy and show them the way Human kindness is overflowing And I think it's going to rain today This describes my reality in the fall season of prepa...

CHILLY START--If you were lucky, your Saturday morning was not quite as cold as ours in West Valley as it was white with frost when I got up. To top off the change in seasons, it looks like we'll see some rain coming our way if the forecast holds. THIS WEEKEND--If you're in need of hand tools, power tools, pots & pans and other kitchenware, along with sewing items, books and more, then head to the Skamokawa Grange Hall this weekend....

If you read this early enough, you might make it down there. Flu shots are more important than ever now as we head into another flu season with covid 19 still out there, so get that flu shot even if it's not something you would usually do. We have lost too many to sit back and assume we won't be ill this winter. Rain: I am hearing that we have the...
