Some criticism is appropriate

To The Eagle:

Just finished reading the paper, thanks, I enjoy reading it. I also enjoy the fact that pretty much anyone is allowed to write in this space, love free speech and a way to bring it to an audience. On that note, I need to express my thoughts on an editorial sent by a ‘conservative branch’ person. Some of the criticism of our President is appropriate, while most is definitely not.

The Wall Street bailout was a 2008 Bush thing, not Obama, right or wrong. Personally I don’t think any bank or such should be propped up to cover their stupidity of gambling. As for the unions, they aren’t getting any money, in fact they are unhappy that Obama isn’t doing more to support them.

Leaving Iraq and “deserting those we were protecting,” was signed into law by Bush with a firm date of December, 2011. Obama tried to leave some there, but would not subject them to Sharia law.

As for the ‘lame’ vacation statement, that so often is brought up by conservatives, check the facts on that. The tally I am stating is the first 31 months of presidencies: Clinton 28 days, Obama 61 days, Reagan 112 days and the winner: George W. with 180 days.

I have serious problems with Solyndra, I would like to know just how or why it went into the toilet. I know cheap subsidized Chinese solar panels had something to do with it. Hopefully the truth will come out.

The payroll tax situation, I am split on, as it is taking away from SS payments, not income tax. To say that it doesn’t help the economy, I think is wrong. Every dollar of that will go right back in the economy, hence helping the economy.

The job loss bleeding of 2007-8 has finally been stopped and slowly going in the right direction, albeit very slowly. Many people don’t see how much this country is tied to worldwide economics, an awful lot depends on how well they keep afloat. Spending is obviously our huge problem, we've been living on plastic too long. The public has heeded the warning and lowered their debt ratio, saving a little more. Hopefully our government will also realize this. Interest paid is money totally wasted.

Our military presence in so many countries around the world is a big drain. I don’t want to go to closing out everything, but with our military spending being as much as the next five countries combined, and double GDP percentage spending of China's, who is next up with about one sixth of how much we spend.

Had planned to only correct some misinformation, but got carried away.
