Sheriff's Report, February 4, 2016

 

February 4, 2016



Wahkiakum County law enforcement officers and emergency response personnel handled a variety of reports during the past week, including:

January 25 — 2:53 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop on SR 4 near County Line Park. 4:33 p.m. A Puget Island resident reported that a chain saw had been stolen from his shop. He called later to report that he had found it. 5:24 p.m. A caller was concerned about a possibly suicidal motorist at a Rosedale business. The mental health department was contacted and en route. The individual was detained and had to be restrained after becoming combative. The Cathlamet ambulance responded.

January 26 — 4:37 p.m. A caller reported that no one was allowed to be on her property or had permission to take anything from it after vehicles were seen at her home. A deputy made contact with one of the individuals who had been seen there. He stated that he had purchased the items from the homeowner’s son. The deputy made contact with the son who said he did sell the items and therefore there was no theft. 5:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided an ailing Puget Island resident. 5:55 p.m. A caller reported that someone had made threats at a Cathlamet school. 6:03 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Cathlamet resident who had cut off his finger. 9:04 p.m. An individual was taken into custody for domestic violence in the Deep River area.

January 27 — 4:39 a.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Puget Island baby with hives and respiratory issues. 10:07 a.m. A caller reported that a man had been harassing him and all his neighbors in the Deep River area. 10:42 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. A deputy located the man and made contact. 10:52 a.m. A caller reported that a semi truck had gone off the road. There were no injuries. 12:05 p.m. A caller reported an accident in the Cathlamet area. No injuries were reported.

January 28 — 2:09 a.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. A deputy tried to make contact. The resident had been asleep. 10:48 a.m. A caller reported child abuse at a park in Skamokawa. 2:15 p.m. A caller reported an erratic driver on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. The driver was stopped. The Cathlamet ambulance responded because the individual was confused. A family member was notified and said that the individual should not be driving. He was enroute. 2:47 p.m. A welfare check was requested for a Puget Island resident. 9:58 p.m. A caller reported an injured dog lying in a Cathlamet roadway.

January 29 — 4:25 a.m. The sheriff’s department was asked to be on the lookout for an individual that was supposed to be checked into the hospital by her mother but never showed up. 12:12 p.m. A caller reported a truck in a ditch on SR 4 in the Elochoman Valley area. 1:54 p.m. A juvenile was taken into custody after the report of a domestic assault. 5:50 p.m. A Rosedale resident was concerned about three men pacing in a neighbor’s home. 8:04 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a Grays River resident. 8:31 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the Skamokawa area.

January 30 — 3:52 a.m. An alarm was activated at a Skamokawa address. 12:17 p.m. An individual was taken into custody after a vehicle stop. 1:33 p.m. A caller reported that someone had trespassed on his boat. 6:29 p.m. A domestic disturbance was reported in the Rosedale area. 9:56 p.m. A warrant was served to an individual at a Beaver Creek address.

January 31 — 1:53 p.m. The Grays River ambulance aided a resident who had suffered a stroke. 4;21 p.m. A caller reported seeing an oil slick on a Puget Island slough.

February 1 — 9:33 a.m. An unknown driver left the scene after striking a patrol car in a parking lot in Cathlamet. 10:31 a.m. A Cathlamet resident reported that a boat had been stolen. Investigation revealed it was a civil matter. 3:14 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a caller with back problems. 7:31 p.m. A caller reported reckless drivers in the Rosedale area. 8:57 p.m. A caller reported that a wallet had been stolen and his bank account had been drained. 9:53 p.m. The Cathlamet ambulance aided a Rosedale resident with respiratory issues.
