Volunteers working on the drainage project between the horse barn and arena, in spite of the weather, are making some good progress. One ditch was dug, four catch basins set in place and 100 feet of four inch pipe laid out. The pipes and basins are connected, most of the ditch is filled back in and the pipe that is in place is helping to drain the inches of rain we keep receiving each day. DECENT--It was nice to see some dry weather last weekend after the downpours we experienced previously. It seems our county had its share of flooding, rock slides and miserable conditions last week to deal with, so a spurt of sunshine and fair weather was a welcome relief. Grant Lowell Jensen, 80, of Cathlamet passed away November17, 2012 at his home where he was taken care of by his son, Lance and daughter-in-law Desiree. A winter storm that packed hurricane force winds and dumped five inches or more of rain hit the lower Columbia River region Sunday and Monday.
