Registered voters throughout Washington will soon receive ballots for the upcoming Primary Election. The Primary Election’s 18-day voting period starts Friday starts and lasts through election day, Aug. 4. According to a news release from the Office of the Secretary of State, ballots include a prepaid-postage envelope, so people who return their ballots via U.S. mail do not have to pay for a stamp. On June 26, the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office received a report of human remains washed up on the shore of the Columbia River. The remains were recovered by the Wahkiakum County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office, and due to their condition, the coroner transported them to the office of the Washington State Forensic Anthropologist for scientific examination.
