On Tuesday, the battle for first place in the Pacific League boys basketball standings took place in a crowded gym in Naselle, with the Comets beating South Bend 69-55. Last weekend the Wahkiakum Mule wrestling team competed in Kalama’s annual Rubber Chicken Tournament, placing ninth overall, the highest placing Class B school.
