Wahkiakum High School senior Cody Olsen was recently awarded the WIBCA 2B Basketball Player of The Year. The award was presented at the 2010 All-state Game played at Mountlake Terrace High School, Everett. Wahkiakum Mule athlete Brett Chaput, a sophomore, won the discus competition and set a new meet record with a throw of 144 feet at the Rainier Ice Breaker Meet Saturday. Wahkiakum High School senior Tyson Bain on Monday signed a letter of intent to enroll and play football at Eastern Oregon University in LaGrande. Bain, who played linebacker and offensive line for the Mule football team, said he hopes to play linebacker in college. "It's been a lifelong dream to play football in college," he said.
