    The Wahkiakum Mules volleyball team got off to a good start with a win against a 2A school, R.A. Long, on Tuesday. The Mules won in five sets, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 23-25, and 17-15.     Photo and story by Program Coordinator Nick Vavoudis Skyline Golf Course ended their summer golf camp on August 17 as the kids get ready for fall sports sponsored by the local schools. We had a great turnout this summer. Skyline Golf Camp lasted 23 days and taught 135 lessons to some 20 different kids. The season culminated with the Mint Valley Junior City Championship where six kids from Cathlamet competed. The event lasted four days with a flighted match play bracket event the final two days....

    Wahkiakum Mule golfer Sarah Shi struck the ball marvelously for the second day in a row and received the sixth place medal for golfing in the WIAA State Championships last week at Meadow Wood Golf Course in Liberty Lake.     The 2016 Wahkiakum Mule Track and Field season ended this weekend in Cheney, and 14 seemed to be the magical number. Macie Elliott took 14th place in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:59.62.     Wahkiakum Mule golfer Sarah Shi won the Bi-District Tournament at Oak Harbor on Thursday to qualify for the state tourament next week in Spokane. Sarah shot 52 on the front but overcame an eight stroke lead at the turn against Ilwaco's District 4 champion and nemesis Aslyn Fisher to shoot a 40 on the much harder back nine to win medalist honors with a 92 and a four stroke win.
