WILD ONE--This past weekend had us listening to rolling thunder, accompanied by some flashy lightning and we saw and heard some very heavy rains, along with howling winds! I was happy that we didn't lose power throughout the nastiest part of this event, but we did lose it for about an hour during a calm period on Sunday evening, which seemed weird. While I certainly wasn't expecting it to happen during the calmest part of the day, at least I was prepared for it. Rain and wind: I worked hard last week to prune, weed eat and clean up debris in my yard. The apples that fall from the tree at the top of the hill behind my house continue to increase as they fall down the hill. There are night creatures that come and enjoy them, I'm sure. An average 4.17% rate change has been approved for next year's Exchange health insurance market. Twelve insurers will sell plans on Washington's Exchange in 2022. First I would like to thank all of the riders for coming to our August 7 and September 11 gaming shows. you all did a great job, good rides. We hope to see you on September 25 for show #3. September 11 is National Emergency Responders Day. This week it seems appropriate to honor our own emergency responders as we get close to the 20th Anniversary of September 11, 2001. The emergency proclamation preventing shut-off of water, electricity or natural gas services is slated to end Sept. 30. It is among the many emergency measures enacted by Gov. The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, originally planned for September 10-12, 2021, has been canceled due to the shifting COVID-19 landscape.
