According to Cathlamet Public Works Superintendent David McNally, the town has been logging trees at Erickson Park in response to Glengate residents' concern about trees potentially falling on their homes. WET--I wish the forecast had been wrong and our Spring weather had shown up with more sun than rain, but it was pretty wet off and on this past Saturday. Greetings from the fair office. Glad to see us moving in to Phase 3; hopefully we will be able to get doing more things out at the fairgrounds. We will hold Easter Bingo on April 2 starting at 6 p.m., the doors will open at 5 p.m. The big raffle will be a TV. With spring almost here drivers have just one more week to remove studded tires from their vehicles. The Washington State Department of Transportation reminds drivers that state law requires all studded tires to be removed by the end of the day Wednesday, March 31. Starting at midnight on Thursday, April 1, drivers with studded tires face a $136 fine. Studded tires damage pavement, so removing them promptly after winter has passed helps preserve state roadways. Movin' On: Yesterday was Sunday and the traffic changed on Loop Road in front of my house. For the 17 years I've lived here, I've watched weekend visitors drive by to the bridge. First, they go by to get to the bridge, then they go by to get back to SR 4, so I assume they went to the Covered Bridge.
