Greetings from the fair office. Wow! it’s hard to believe we are only four weeks away from the fair. Animal entries came in last Friday and it looks good. Fair books are out, so hopefully everyone has one and is getting their entries ready for the fair. Check the fair book for days that entries come in. Kaye Wiemer has left us. She died last week, such a loss for all of us. She was a kind person, perfect for a pastor's wife. My story about Kaye is that at the last Finn Fest, she watched me struggling to walk to my car as I left. The inaugural Cathlamet Pickleball Tournament was a smashing success, as more than 20 participants battled on the courts during Bald Eagle Days. The winners of the tournament were Cathlamet resident Julie Arness and her Pickleball/tennis partner, Shirley Derby of Longview. A Hunter Education Course is scheduled for August 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and August 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elochoman Slough Marina covered area.
