Robert Wayne Kerstetter, lifelong Cathlamet resident, died on his 68th birthday, in Vancouver,WA. Bob was born to G.R. and Mildred (Swanson) Kerstetter on April 27, 1948 in Longview. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1966 and attended Yakima Valley College and WSU. In 1972 he began a long career in the grocery business when he went to work for Doumit’s Grocery. He bought the business in 1975 and it became Bob’s Market which he owned until 1992. After selling the market he opened BJ’s Restaurant in Cathlamet, which he owned for four...
Anna A. Wages, 64, of Cathlamet, died April 28, 2016 at St. John Medical Center. She was born April 5, 1952 in Elma, to Joseph and Betty (Williams) Harner. In 1970 she graduated from Montesano High School. She moved to Cathlamet in 1996 and married Lee Wages on April 11, 1996. To The Eagle: I did not go to meetings in regards to the new junk/waste ordinance. I did not feel that it applied to me. I also voted against the ordinance. The ordinance basically says that your neighbors have a right to not have to look at anything that they feel is junk on your property. Removing artifacts of racism is a way to acknowledge that we are moving on from the racist history that Oregon (and this country) is still living down.
