    Nicholas Ryan West of Cathlamet graduated from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota on April 29, 2003 with his Bachelor degree in Biochemistry. West received the 2023 outstanding student in chemistry award from the Lacrosse-Winona local section of the American Chemical Society. One of the biggest expenses we incur each year is the mowing of the cemetery grounds but this annual clean-up makes a big difference for the whole year.   • Fair foundation to host Mother's Day dinner

    The Fair Foundation will host a Mother's Day Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, May 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds.     Justin Williams, a volunteer firefighter/EMT, will teach a course from the American Heart Association at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Cathlamet. Information will be taught on First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Three classes are available.
